Positive affirmations for writers

Let’s get POSITIVE!

Positive affirmations. Ah, yes.

Have you ever thought about how much negative self-talk you produce every day? I didn’t either until recently when I found a fellow online that really impressed me with his affirmation ideas. This got me to thinking… and I decided that everyone INCLUDING WRITERS needs positive reinforcements.

So, this week’s video is all about positive affirmations for writers. That’s all writers, young, old, and in-between.

Many people have wonderful positive affirmations like I am beautiful, I am peaceful, I am joyful. But I wanted to say things like, I am a writer. Because sometimes we just need to hear that.

I have put together this little video with voiceover speaking positivity into your ear. I hope it is something that benefits you in the days to come. If you ever need someone to just talk to about writing, well, I am always listening.

Please consider liking, sharing, and subscribing to the Writer Groupie channel over on YouTube. I would love to have you as a fan and follower.

Writer Groupie is also on iTunes if you are a podcast listener. Sometimes it is about writing, sometimes it is about writing mindset. If that sound like something you would be interested in, would you consider adding the podcast to your favs?

3 Habits All Writers Should Follow

Habits. Did you know that if you do something for a month it will become a habit? Here’s why I mention it.

3 Habits All Writers Should Follow

There are quite a few things that writers should follow, like other writers. But I am not talking about that today. Today, it’s all about habits.

3 Habits all writers should follow

1. Write something every day.

  • a. Sit down and start typing.
  • b. You can free write until the ideas flow
  • c. The key is don’t edit yourself now. Just write.

2. Read–for fun

  • a. Reading should be fun. It was once, wasn’t it?
  • b. You learn from others
  • c. Make reading a priority to stay current on what kinds of books are out there.

3. Go for a walk

  • a. Don’t take your phone–instead focus on nature
  • b. Allow creativity to flow
  • c. Accept inspiration when it comes

Tarot for Writers : A BABY!

In today’s video, I pull a few cards and quickly realize that this spread needs more. Look into what the cards holds for the queen of swords today.

This channel is attempting to focus on older writers, over fifty writers, and anyone who needs to be encouraged to write, young or old.

If you find value in this video, or anything else on my channel, please be so kind as to like and subscribe, and tell your friends!

When we get 100 subscribers, we will get the WriterGroupie name in the URL. That’s pretty special. I am counting on you!

Day in the life of an OLDER writer

Today I have uploaded a day in the life vlog for you to the YouTube channel. I have been sick with a sinus cold of some sort for about a week, so I couldn’t really record. It is terrible trying to talk and breathe when your nose is sooo stuffy.

No, I do not think it is Covid. I don’t feel that bad-but I am staying home away from everyone just in case. I have been staying away from people in general all this while, which is another reason I do not think it is Covid. Of course, my hubby works, so there is that possibility that he might have come into contact. He is not sick however, so I really do not buy that either. No, really, I think it’s the same crud I get every winter. Sinuses. Ugh. I am treating as such anyway. My desire is to feel better soon. I have SO much to do.

day in the life
Writing while sick and quarantining

This video has clips from our fun New Years Day of going to the beach, and I end it with some writing (me writing). It is not very informational, and I promise to get to that soon. It’s winter and it’s cold here in Florida, Yeah, I know. But it was 38 when I woke up this morning. That’s cold by anyone’s standards.

DO check back for new videos and podcasts coming soon. If you like this day in the life style of video I will be happy to make more!

Writer Groupie Tarot for Writers : Setting

Hey, everybody! I am back with another tarot for writers video. This time the cards were a little sneaky. The true meaning of the setting didn’t reveal itself until the end of the video. I hope you are enjoying these as much as I am making them!

If you are an older writer, just diving into the writing life, you may enjoy my other videos over on YouTube. Just search for Writer Groupie. I should come up.

This video was created using a smartphone and a tripod. If you are an over-fifty writer who would like to get started creating videos, drop a comment below. I will be happy to share what my setup is like-it is really simple.

I would love to get more tech-heavy, but I have to reach a few milestones first. First, I need 100 subscribers. That will get the Writer Groupie name in the URL. Having it that way will make finding the channel much easier.

Then it is on to monetization hopefully. We will see.

Why I am on #YouTube and why you should care

Ever wonder why someone is on #YouTube? This is the one you have been waiting for.

All about Writer Groupie and why I haven’t been active in so long and what on earth has brought me back around again.

It’s a new year, and a new chance to make videos for writers. I love to write, and I love those who write also. I hope you will enjoy this real-in-your-face video about me and my choice to shoot again and upload to this channel even though my situation is not perfect. Not that having a perfect situation is required. See other videos shot recently to find testimony to that fact. I am trying. That’s all one can do, right?

But if you listen to all the hoopla all you have to do is create videos, upload them, create a buzz for them, and voila! You’re an Internet hit. Well, on #YouTube anyway. They say you don’t have to have fancy cameras, or gear. Not even good lighting if you use a sunny location.

SO, HERE’S THE DEAL

Word to the wise: you ain’t gotta be perfect to start a #YouTube channel-you ain’t even gotta be purty.

WGP Flyby Podcast End Of Year Reflections

Welcome to another episode of my podcast. Today, I reflect on my accomplishments from 2020 and what 2021 may hold.

You know that the end of a year is a time of reflection on what the year has brought, and a great time to do a little planning on how you want the next year to go. Well, this is that podcast.

To be honest, once I got over into the podcast, I discovered that I have accomplished far more than I had thought.  It became apparent that I wasn’t completely lazy and non-productive. I do hope to bring more items to the table next year, and I discuss my anticipations in this podcast as well.

I would love for you to subscribe to the channel over on YouTube if you would like to see what I am currently doing go here:

I took this image as I went on my daily walk. It represents to me that old saying, “when pigs fly”. It has been a bit of a SOW-er year. We’ve been stuck in the mud. We’ve all been cooking and eating like a pig. *(I could go onnnnnnn)*

podcast for end of year

Also, just so you know, I have a whole site devoted to my writing, and you can see it here:

www.kimsmithauthor.com

More of what’s coming…

Anyway, I will be back with content in 2021 that will consists of both videos and podcasts once again. Recording a podcast is the easy thing, creating the video and accompanying blog post is what takes so much time. But I do love to do it, and I do love that you love it too. Please bear with me. The sound sucks at times, and the video is terrible too, but I promise I will get better. I just have to find my groove again.

If you are an author and you would like to be featured on WGP, please leave a contact form on this site and I will contact you.
